Phoenicia, Arados (?), AR Hemidrachm. c. 5th–3rd century BC

Phoenicia, Arados (?), AR Hemidrachm (silver,1.6g, 12mm). c. 5th–3rd century BC

Obverse: Stylized Phoenician galley, with elongated hull and raised prow, schematic rowers below (represented by a series of pellets), all above a linear wave. The rendering is unusually abstract, giving an impression of dual or mirrored structure, a style not commonly encountered in standard references or major databases such as ACSearch or CoinArchives

Reverse: Laureate and bearded head (of Ba'al?) right Phoenician

Ref: Apparently unpublished and unique

Note: cleaning scratches and porosity otherwise nicely centered and clear legend
