Ex NGC slab, Choice Fine 5/5 - 2/5 (the coin is removed from the previous encapsulation, tag will be provided)
This coin is part of the Ptolemaic monetary system, which was drastically different from the other Hellenistic kingdoms. A commemorative issue under the second dynast, Ptolemy II Philadelphos, this large gold piece commemorates his father Ptolemy I Soter alongside his mother Berenice I with a legend ΘEΩN which translates to Gods. He puts himself and his wife / sister Arsinoe II with the legend AΔEΛΦΩN which translates to siblings. A great example to get four royal busts on one coin!
Attractive despite the wear!
