Choice architectural bronze of Septimius Severus from Nicopolis ad Istrum, issued under governor Aurelius Gallus. The reverse depicts a detailed tetrastyle temple rendered in three-quarter perspective – a hallmark of this city's coinage. Well-struck with full legends on both sides, the temple's columns and pediment are crisp. From the well-documented N&N 135 sale (lot 337). A classic Moesian provincial with historical and architectural appeal.
