Larissa Drachm Plated in BCD Thessaly II

A wonderfully rendered head of Larissa, the nymph of her namesake city. These drachms range in style and production quality, with this being among the finer examples produced. The style and artistry on certain issues from the city rival the Sicilian masterpieces of the fifth century BC. This coin is featured in the CNG Triton XV sale, also known as BCD Thessaly II.
