Exonumia, 1893, Medal , AU

Eglit-85A; Cunningham 20-070W; King-504. 45.5 MM. White Metal. Rarity 7.

One of the more interesting pieces of Columbiana, this piece mentions nothing of the event it was created for. Struck for sale as souvenirs at the 1892-93 Chicago Worlds Fair these pieces are fairly elusive. We've seen only one white metal example as is the present example cross the block at any auction house in 12 years. We're calling this example AU but it has the distinct appearance of being a once proud pocket piece.
