Menander I was a notable Indo-Greek king whose reign marked a period of significant cultural and economic exchange between the Greek and Indian civilizations. He is renowned for the expansion of Hellenistic influence through his conquests in the Indian subcontinent, and his reign is often associated with the spread of Greco-Buddhism. Menander’s rule represents a fusion of Greek and Indian traditions, as evidenced by the bilingual inscriptions on his coinage, which served as instruments of authority and cultural diplomacy.
