Hadrian (AD 117-138) denarius

Minted towards the end of Hadrian's reign, captures his ideological message of a long & successful reign that has established peace & prosperity. Tellus (Mother Earth, or the equivalent of the Greek Gaia) is a rarer reverse type in imperial coinage, appearing only on these issues by Hadrian and arguably once more on coins of Julia Domna in the early 3rd century.
