Description

Obverse: Front of the coin

•  Portrait: Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Constantine I facing right.

•  Legend: IMP CONSTANTINVS P F AVG

That expands to Imperator Constantinus Pius Felix Augustus — basically "Emperor Constantine, dutiful and fortunate emperor."

Reverse: Back of the coin

•  Deity: Sol Invictus, the "Unconquered Sun," standing left, radiate crown, right hand raised, holding globe in left hand.

•  Legend: SOLI INVICTO COMITI

Translation: "To the Unconquered Sun, Companion (of the Emperor)." Constantine used Sol imagery heavily before he shifted toward Christian symbolism.

•  Mint marks: PLN = Pecunia Londiniensis, meaning it was minted in London — one of the main mints for Constantine’s western empire.

•  Denomination: AE3 Follis. It’s a reduced-weight bronze coin from the Tetrarchy era.
