Julian, often referred to as Julian the Apostate, was the last non-Christian ruler of the Roman Empire. His reign from 361 to 363 marked a period of religious and cultural transition, as he attempted to restore pagan traditions and counter the growing influence of Christianity. The issued coinage from his rule, such as this follis, reflects both his imperial authority and his efforts to convey stability ("Securitas") amidst religious reforms.
