The strike shows clear details on both sides with minor wear typical of its age. This specimen can be referenced with RPC IX, 1794.
Trebonianus Gallus' reign was marked by turmoil and instability following the chaos of the mid-3rd century Roman Empire. As a provincial tetradrachm, this coin reflected the empire's practice of minting localized currency to facilitate trade and economic stability in the eastern provinces. These coins offer insight into how Roman authority extended influence and controlled monetary supply across vast regions, especially during periods of internal strife and external threats.
