Historically, Menander I was one of the most prominent kings of the Indo-Greek Kingdom, known for expanding Greek influence into the Indian subcontinent. His reign marked a period of Hellenistic cultural and economic growth, and he is noted in both Western and Indian historical texts for his legacy in fostering cultural exchange and Buddhism. Menander I is often identified with the legendary Milinda in Buddhist literature, renowned for his dialogues on philosophy and contribution to the religious landscapes of his time.
