This issue names Jupiter as bringer of victory, reflecting the mid-3rd-century emphasis on traditional state cults and divine sanction during sustained military and political pressures on the Roman Empire; antoniniani of Salonina formed part of the imperial monetary output alongside that of Gallienus, circulating widely in the period of intensified debasement and frequent mint activity.
