Struck at Rome in AD 206, this silver denarius shows the laureate head of Septimius Severus right with SEVERVS PIVS AVG. A flan split at the lower obverse rim is visible in the photographs and video.

P M TR P XIIII COS III P P records the emperor’s chief priesthood, fourteenth tribunician year, third consulship and title of Father of the Fatherland. Genius stands left, sacrificing from a patera over a lighted altar and holding corn ears; the altar and principal attributes remain distinct.
