Jefferson Nickel, 1996, Triple Struck 2nd/3rd strikes off center, 5¢, MS64 , NGC

Jefferson Nickel, 1996-5¢, MS64, Triple Struck 2nd/3rd strikes off center, NGC.This coin received not one or two, but three distinct blows from the dies. Each strike landed after the coin failed to exit the striking chamber, producing multiple overlapping impressions. The resulting design shows clear shifting, doubling, and displacement of major devices, with each strike creating its own directional “step” in the metal.

Triple strikes require repeated mechanical failure in the ejection cycle, making them far scarcer than typical double strikes.
