Nero.

Nero; 54-68 AD, Ephesus, Ionia, ca. 65-66 AD, under proconsul M' Acilius Aviola, Leaded bronze, 24mm, 11.96g. RPC-2626 (7 specimans recorded). Obv: ΝΕΡΩΝ ΚΑΙΣΑΡ, Laureate head r. Rx: ΑΟΥΙΟΛΑ ΑΝΘΥΠΑΤΩ ΑΙΧΜΟΚΛΗΣ, ΝΕΟΚΟΡΩΝ, ΕΦΕ; three-quarter view of temple. This is the first appearance of the word Neokopos, "temple guardian", on coins; RPC suggests that the temple shown may be one dedicated to Nero himself by the Ephesians. Ex HJB February 2009.. aEF
