Plautilla. AE 27

Plautilla; Nicopolis ad Istrum, Moesia Inferior, Aurelius Gallus, AE 27, 13.47g. AMNG-1631 = Varbanov-3192, HHJ 2012-p. 235, 5-6 (same dies). Obv: ΦOYΛ ΠΛAY-TIΛΛA CEBAC, Draped bust r. with stephane. Rx: YΠA [ΑΥΡ ΓΑΛΛΟΥ] ΝEΙΚΟΠΟΛΙΤΩN / ΠΡΟC ΙC, Heracles standing r., leaning on club. Ex Curtis L. Clay Collection.Lots 758 and 759 are struck from the same obverse die, both with a divot in the neck caused by an object stuck to the die when it was struck. Interesting since the coins were obviously struck at almost the same time, but with different reverse dies. MS
