Description
Roman Square Sided Glass Bottle, ca. 1st-3rd Century AD. Roman pale green glass bottle with a thick, flared rim that folds inward, narrowing to a short cylindrical neck and sloping, rounded shoulders. Its rectangular, flat-sided form is characteristic of prismatic glassware produced during the Roman Empire. Unlike rounded flasks and bottles, prismatic vessels could be closely aligned and efficiently packed, making their angular shape particularly practical for storage and transport. An unusual shape. H. 4 5/8" (11.7 cm)..
