The Fifth Syrian War (202–195 BC) was a major conflict between the Seleucid Empire, led by Antiochus III (the Great), and the Ptolemaic Kingdom of Egypt under the young king Ptolemy V. Fight was over territory in the reign. Antiochus formed a "secret agreement" with Philip V of Macedon to partition Ptolemaic territories between them. (195 BC): Ptolemy V was forced to sign a conciliatory treaty, ceding Coele-Syria to the Seleucids. The peace was sealed by the marriage of Ptolemy V to Antiochus's daughter, Cleopatra I.
