Description

Egyptian Faience Cup with Hieroglyph, Late Period, ca. 715-330 BC. A fine blue-green faience cup decorated with a painted black hieroglyphic inscription incorporating a royal cartouche. The vessel displays a mottled glaze with scattered areas of surface encrustation. The combination of the blue-green glaze and contrasting black inscription provides a particularly appealing example of Egyptian faience craftsmanship.
