Medieval Bronze Archers Ring, ca. 12th-14th Century AD. A medieval archers' ring of sturdy form, featuring a flat-section hoop and a projecting, angular triangular flange. The extended flange was designed to protect the thumb and its knuckle from the tension of the bowstring when drawing a powerful bow.
