A visually striking example produced on an elliptical planchet, an unusual shape likely resulting from a pre-strike cutting or blanking anomaly. Rather than the standard round format, the elongated form creates distortion in the design, with peripheral elements often unevenly spaced or drawn toward the edges. Errors of this nature offer a clear look at how planchet preparation directly impacts the final strike, and the atypical shape gives the piece immediate eye appeal and strong collector interest.
