Description
Egyptian Alabaster Jar, Middle Kingdom, Dynasties XI to XII, ca. 2050-1786 BC. A finely crafted alabaster jar, characterized by its soft, rounded form and smooth, luminous surface. The jar has a bulbous body that tapers inward toward a narrow, flat base, giving it a stable yet graceful stance. The upper portion widens gently to a short neck and flared rim, creating a broad opening with a subtly thickened lip.
