Stop Bronze Disease

Sodium Sesquicarbonate

10gm- does 2 batches enough for 50 to 100 coins give or take.

I only reuse water solution if it was the same coin that was in there to begin with. Don’t reuse solution for a new coin, change water solution. Better safe than sorry later.

Instruction

5 Grams Sodium Sesquicarbonate added to 100 grams distilled water. Brush of Bronze Disease and Soak couple weeks. Then clean area getting all disease off as you can. May need to soak for another week if needed use same water. Then pat dry coin. Let air dry for s couple hours. Then seal coin with Miro- Crystalline wax or Petroleum jelly. Air is the enemy.

When doing this make sure you are nowhere near other coins or anything they come in contact with. Bronze Disease can move coin to coin. Like Do this in garage or outside. Wash hand like you’re a Doctor ready for surgery. I bought small containers that 1 coin at a time goes in. I treat every dirt coin like it has it because you never know what is under the dirt. I even soak coin that have any questionable marks like green of any kind and pitted coins soak and make sure. Come in 2 sealed bags with instructions twice in 1st bag and labeled on bag hold Sodium Sesquicarbonate 11gm. Extra gram for spillage or making it a little stronger. Will not hurt coin, will not remove patina. (solution sometimes turns green even if there is no bronze disease or that doesn’t mean it had it)

Bronze Disease- a bright, pale, or bluish-green powdery substance, fuzzy spots, or waxy bumps on the surface of copper or bronze (Color- Vivid, mint, or pastel green, and sometimes tiny blue crystals) (Texture: Fuzzy, flaky, powdery, or waxy.
