Luristan Bronze Axe

Luristan Bronze Axe, ca. 1200-800 BC. Cast in bronze with a cylindrical shaft-hole, the upper edge reinforced by a pronounced thickening. The blade projects outward from the socket, expanding toward a broad, convex cutting edge, with the upper profile tapering to a point where it meets the cutting edge.
