Flying Eagle Cent, 1856, 1¢, PR65 , NGC

Snow 3, Repunched 5, High Leaves. I originally sold this coin back in 2008 or 2009 and it has remained with that collector since that time. Both obverse and reverse offer lovely orange/tan coloration with very subtle hints of pale blue about some of the devices and protected areas. The fields are crisp and reflective and the overall eye appeal extremely pleasing. Snow suggests Variety 3, offered here, is considerably scarcer than the more oft encountered Snow 9 and was most likely among the original 634 offered to Congress to promote the upcoming coinage bill.
